Project Introduction to Green Hope Project

“Narration of Protecting Mother River ― Green Hope Project” is a public welfare project held by units such as the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the National Environmental Resources Committee etc altogether aiming at protecting Yangtze River and Yellow River and fostering ecological environment of regional streams valleys. Beijing Youth Development Foundation takes the activity aim and extends it by holding public welfare activities with the main content of protecting ecological environment in Beijing area, organizing units and individuals to take part in planting activities of Green Hope Project and carrying out education on green environmental protection. With residences’ donating funds for planting trees, green protective screens on the rim of the capital are built to make bluer skies, greener water and more excellent environment.

��. Donation standard

Five yuans per tree, two hundred yuans per acre of trees.

��. Donation reward return

1. Individual donators who donate more than 100 thousand yuans and units that donate more than 200 thousand yuans can name woodlands on their own names.

2. For individuals who donate 200 yuans, their names can be written on uniform denoters.

3. Individuals or units that donate more than 1 million yuans can have special funds set up on donators’ names.

��. Operation pattern

The Green Hope Project takes the patterns of receiving social donation, planting trees by professionals, taking responsible by the local government, supervising by funds organization, and caring by local people to ensure the growing of trees through signing agreements to clarify duty, rights and interests.

��. Donation management

1. All the donated money is implemented in the local government of the project according to the standard of 200 yuans for per acre of trees.

2. Woodland planting funds are composed in a proportion of 5 to 4 to1 according to the national Management Regulations on Mother River Protection, that is donation makes up 50% of project funds, country 40% and the local government 10%; if there is also a sufficiency of funds, the local government is to solve the problem.

3. Donation is given out by means of the local government submitting expense accounts to the Foundation. After a year from the planting of trees, the local agricultural sector checks the survival rate of trees and submit self-checking reports to the Youth Development Foundation. After passing the inspection of Beijing Youth Development Foundation and experts of related departments for the project area, 50 percent of donation will be granted; in the second year, 50 percent of donation will be granted after reaching the qualifying survival rate of replanting by the local forest industry department; in the third year, the rest 20 percent of donation will be granted after finishing planting the whole project area as well as passing inspection.
