Tumed Left Banner Fuwa Nini Hope Primary School Inaugurated

The Unveiling Ceremony of Tumed Left Banner Fuwa Nini Hope Primary School was held on October 23 in Tumed Left Banner. Han Meilin, a member of the standing committee of the CPPCC National committee, Director of China Artists Association and a famous Chinese artist, and his wife Zhou Jianping, Jiang Xiaoyu, Deputy Director of CPPCC Committee of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports, and his wife Wang Luyi, Huang Xu, a winner of Olympic golden prizes and team leader of The National Men's Gymnastics Team of the People's Republic of China, Xu Wenfu, director of Shanghai Mary Paint Plant, Ya Jiying, Deputy Secretary-general of Beijing Youth Development Foundation, Liu Jianzhong, Inner Mongolia Youth Development Foundation, and local leaders of the Party and government were present at the unveiling ceremony.
        Liu Yunshan, Member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, Propaganda Minister of the CPC Central Committee, wrote an inscription for the school “Hope of the grassland, future of the country, spirit of the Olympics, and sentiment of Meilin”, which was read by Director Jiang Xiaoyu at the ceremony. Mr. Han Meilin addressed the ceremony, expressing her congratulations on the establishment of the school and conveying his great expectation for its students and teachers. Ya Jiying, Deputy Secretary-general of Beijing Youth Development Foundation, introduced the inauguration of the school. At the ceremony, Mr. Han Meilin donated RMB 100,000 to the school again; Director Jiang Xiaoyu donated a total of RMB 50,000 to the Tumed Left Banner Education Foundation; Huang Xu presented the clothes he wore when receiving the golden medals of the Olympics Games; Mr. Xu Wenfu donated paint worthy of RMB 100,000 to the school.
        Han Meilin is a famous Chinese famous Chinese artist most recognized today for his creation of the Fuwa dolls for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In 2008, he gave support to the establishment of 5 schools named after Fuwa (official mascots of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games), including Tumed Left Banner Fuwa Nini Hope Primary School. The school was built on Tumed Left Banner Ethnic School with a donation of 250,000 yuan by Han Meilin and with the fund of the People’s Government of Tumed Left Banner. The project was completed and put into use in September 2008. The school is open to 214 surrounding administrative villages and enrolls a total of more than 900 students.
